MONGOOSE There are approximately 34 species of mongoose worldwide - some are sociable animals (Yellow Mongoose) and some are solitary (Egyptian Mongoose).
Looks like a weasel or a meerkat.
Some types are nocturnal.
Move really fast and are very agile.
Often lives in burrows.
Lives about 20 years.
Eats frogs, worms, rodents, birds, bird eggs and insects.
The smallest is the Dwarf Mongoose weighing about half a pound.
The largest is the White Banded Mongoose weighing about 8 pounds.
